These terms govern courier services provided by Secure Courier York. By booking a collection or accepting a quote you agree to these terms.
1. The service
We provide same-day and next-day courier collection of parcels and palletised goods from York and across Yorkshire, with onward delivery to addresses agreed at the time of booking.
2. Quotes and pricing
Quotes are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise and are based on the information you provide. If the consignment differs materially on collection (weight, dimensions, access requirements) we may revise the price before proceeding.
3. Bookings
A booking is confirmed when we acknowledge it in writing (email, WhatsApp, or SMS). Same-day collections require booking by the cut-off time stated for your area; later bookings are accepted subject to availability.
4. Your obligations
- Goods must be packaged appropriately for transit by road.
- You must declare hazardous, perishable, fragile, or high-value items.
- Addresses must be accurate and accessible for our vehicle.
- Someone must be available at the collection address during the agreed window.
5. Prohibited items
We do not carry live animals, illegal goods, firearms, currency, perishables requiring temperature control beyond ambient, or any items prohibited by UK law. Tell us in advance if you are unsure.
6. Insurance and liability
All consignments are covered by our Goods in Transit insurance up to £50,000 per load. Higher values can be arranged on request before collection. Our liability is limited to the lesser of the actual loss and the insured value. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
7. Payment
Ad-hoc collections are payable on or before delivery unless a credit account has been agreed. Business accounts are invoiced monthly with payment due within 14 days. Late payments may attract interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
8. Cancellations
Cancellations made more than two hours before the agreed collection time are free. Cancellations within two hours of collection may be charged at up to 50% of the quoted price to cover allocated vehicle time.
9. Claims
Any claim for loss or damage must be reported to us within 7 days of delivery with photographic evidence and supporting documentation.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
